Writing From: Chiang Mai
I told myself I would write on this blog every day, but I quickly realized how ambitious that goal was—especially on days like today, when I choose to rest and relax in bed.
I spent the first five hours of my day in bed, which is quite unusual for me, but I was feeling a bit down. The good thing is that I got to talk to my sister and a few friends. Then, I met up with a friend I made about two weeks ago here. Today was the third time we have hung out in Chiang Mai, and it is nice to have some semblance of a community.

We had lunch at a local spot. I will not mention it because I do not want to bash anyone’s food, but the food was just okay. Well, the chicken wings were great, but I was disappointed by the pad Thai. I also had a coconut, as per usual.
Afterward, I went to exchange my elephant flip-flops at a boutique because they were too small.
My friend and I walked around for a little while before separating when it started to look like it was about to pour. We had both just gotten our hair done, so neither of us wanted to risk getting caught in the rain.
I also met another woman here a few days ago who is pretty cool, and I have been getting to know her. We had plans to walk around the park—my favorite late-afternoon activity—but we decided to take a rain check.
Basically, I had a very uneventful day, but not every day of life is exciting, and I am okay with that.
