Tembuku/Sideman —August 2nd, 2026

I’m in Sidemen, and every time I come back to the jungle, I remember how much I love it.

I think my dream home will be somewhere in the jungle with access to the beach. When I finally find a place that has both and feels like home, I think I’ll finally be able to stay put. But for now, I’m just going to roam around all parts of Bali.

The cool thing about being here is that you really only see locals unless you go to the fancier dining establishments. It is so beautiful here—quiet, green, and peaceful.

I was only supposed to stay for one night, but a four-hour drive is not worth it for just one night, so now I’m here for the next two nights.

It is too beautiful to leave, and I enjoy the isolation, even though I can’t wait to get back to Uluwatu.

I went to a really good restaurant today with a beautiful view of the rice fields. I ate the best duck of my life, so naturally, I’ll be going back tomorrow.

My Airbnb host is really cute. She kept staring at me and complimenting me, and I did not mind one bit.

I don’t have much energy right now because I’ve been working a lot on my computer. I do contract work sometimes, and my eyes feel so heavy, but I have no choice but to keep doing my best so I can financially sustain my travels.

Tomorrow, though, I’m going to do some exploring.

Goodnight.
